From Research to Policy Recommendations: Julia VanRooyen & PHR Visit the Hill

HHI Fellow, Dr. Julia VanRooyen briefed members of Congress on conditions in Darfur refugee camps. The brief followed the recent release of the Obama Administration's Sudan Policy Review. HHI and the Physicians for Human Rights released a report earlier this year on the subject titled: "Nowhere To Turn: Failure to Protect, Support and Assure Justice for Darfuri Women."

Kelly McQueen, MD, MPH

Fellow, Harvard Humanitarian Initiative

Kelly McQueen is a practicing anesthesiologist and public health consultant in Phoenix, Arizona. She currently works with the United States (US) Army and the US Northern Combatant Command on Infectious Disease, Disaster Planning and other public health projects. Dr. McQueen is also an instructor on infectious disease threat management and treatment for the International Committee for the Red Cross (ICRC) course on Health Emergencies in Large Populations (HELP.).
