HHI Director Michael VanRooyen presents Nadia Murad with the 2018 Elisabeth B. Weintz Humanitarian Award

On Thursday, October 4th, Nadia Murad accepted the Third Annual Elisabeth B. Weintz Humanitarian Award, presented by the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative. As a Nobel Peace Prize nominee, she noted the value of receiving this award from humanitarians who she felt truly understand her work.

On Friday, October 5th, Ms. Murad was announced as the co-recipient of the 2018 Nobel Peace Prize for her efforts to end the use of sexual violence as a weapon of war and armed conflict.
