Kriszia Lorrain Enriquez

Program Manager, DisasterNet - Philippines

Kriszia Lorrain Enriquez is the Program Manager of the DisasterNet Project at the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative.  The project aims to improve community-based disaster preparedness and response in the Philippines, by leveraging research and training programs.

Prior to joining HHI, she was Program Officer for The Asia Foundation (TAF) – Philippines’ Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and local governance programs.  As Program Officer, she worked on DRR policy reform initiatives under the Australian Government – The Asia Foundation’s Coalitions for Change program.  In 2015, she led a team which authored a compendium of reports and findings on the implementation of the Philippines Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Law.  For more than five years at the Foundation, she was instrumental to forging partnerships with civil society organizations (CSOs), academe, local governments, local business organizations, and the national government’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.  Ms. Enriquez developed her government experience from the Philippines’ National Economic and Development Authority as Senior Program Assistant for a project on strengthening Philippines’ institutional capacity to adapt to climate change and DRR.  She also spent a total of 3 years at the Department of Interior and Local Government’s training arm, Local Government Academy, in various capacities as Training Officer and Project Coordinator for various foreign-funded projects.

Ms. Enriquez is also a licensed professional Environmental Planner.  In 2014, two months after Typhoon Haiyan, she volunteered with a group of Environmental Planners for theconduct of a Participatory Damage Needs Assessment in five communities in Guiuan, Eastern Samar.  The needs assessment served as basis for community reconstruction and rehabilitation projects implemented by a local non-government organization.

Ms. Enriquez obtained her Master of Arts in Urban and Regional Planning in 2013 and Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration, Cum Laude, in 2008 both from the University of the Philippines.
