Rob Grace

Senior Associate

Rob is a Senior Associate at the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative (HHI), where he undertakes policy-oriented research on humanitarian action, with a focus on humanitarian negotiation. For the Program on Humanitarian Policy and Conflict Research (HPCR) at HHI, he led a multi-year research project on monitoring, reporting, and fact-finding, which culminated in the publication, which he co-edited, of the HPCR Practitioner’s Handbook on Monitoring, Reporting, and Fact-finding by Cambridge University Press in 2017. He has also contributed as a writer, as well as a substantive and editorial consultant, to e-learning tools produced by the Humanitarian Academy at Harvard. He is a doctoral candidate in political science at Brown University, where he is working on a dissertation analyzing humanitarian access negotiations. In the 2019-2020 academic year, he is a Graduate Research Fellow at the Harvard Program on Negotiation and a USIP-Minerva Peace Scholar at the U.S. Institute of Peace. He holds an MA in Politics from New York University and a BA from Vassar College.
