 Oropuche virus, previously limited to the Amazon Basin, is now spreading rapidly across the Americas. This talk will explore its epidemiology, clinical features, and the potential risks posed by this emerging pathogen.

 Leading this discussion is Dr. Eric Nilles, MD, MSc, Director of the Program on Infectious Diseases and Humanitarian Emergencies at the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative, also a faculty member at Harvard Medical School and an attending physician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital’s Department of Emergency Medicine. With over eight years of experience working with MSF and WHO in humanitarian crises and public health emergencies across more than 30 countries, Dr. Nilles brings extensive expertise in addressing health challenges in conflict zones.
