Beth Maclin

Research Coordinator, Women in War Program

Beth Maclin is the research coordinator for the Women in War program at the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative. She assists in the development, implementation, and dissemination of all Women in War projects. Her research interests include identifying the needs of those impacted by humanitarian crises through a gender-inclusive lens and the factors that fuel cycles of violence within crisis settings. Prior to joining HHI in November 2010, Ms. Maclin volunteered with a refugee advocacy organization in South Africa, worked at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, and assisted two Harvard faculty with editing their respective books, the former about agricultural innovation in Africa and the latter about stateless children. She graduated from Simmons College with a B.A. in Communications/Writing and Political Science in 2008. She is currently a part-time MPH student concentrating in epidemiology at the Boston University School of Public Health.
