Laura is the Program Manager for the Peace and Human Rights Data Program where she works closely with Phuong Pham, PhD, MPH, and Patrick Vinck, PhD, and serves as the point of contact for research, programmatic, administrative, and financial management of that portfolio.

Prior to joining HHI, Laura worked at Boston Medical Center, the Center for International Private Enterprise, and the National Endowment for Democracy as a researcher and program administrator. She has over 8 years of experience working in and conducting research in Eurasia, mainly on human rights, gender equity, and youth education. Laura holds a doctorate in anthropology from Boston University, where she studied how reproductive politics and ideals of womanhood shaped interventions into at-risk, vulnerable, and in-crisis populations of girls and women in Kazakhstan. Previously, she earned her MA at Harvard in Regional Studies: Russia, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia, and her BA in Global Studies: Russian and Post-Soviet Studies from William and Mary.
