Ynis Isimbi, MS
Ynis Isimbi is the Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator for the Executive Negotiation Project and general activities at HHI.
Prior to joining HHI, Ynis was a Research and Evaluation Analyst for Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH based in Rwanda’s Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning. In this role Ynis advised on different sectors, focusing on enhancing research and evaluation of public investment projects. She worked on Rwanda’s first National Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Guidelines to enhance Rwanda’s M&E system and close the gap on Rwanda’s evaluation system. Prior to GIZ Ynis worked as a research consultant with World Bank DIME to increase the role of Impact Evaluations in Rwanda as well as the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency’s (SIDA) on the political economy of Rwanda’s economic and social development. While in the UK, Ynis conducted research on global funding for peace with Christian Aid and coordinated Christian Aid’s coalitions and campaigns on shifting finance from fossil fuels and internally displaced people. Ynis constantly strives to center marginalized communities’ voices in her work.
She holds a Masters of Science in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University.
