Aser Abrha

Aser Abrha, MD is an emergency medicine physician and Global Emergency Medicine Fellow at Brigham and Women's Hospital. He graduated with a degree in Biology and Public Health from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2017, received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in 2022, and completed his residency training in Emergency Medicine at the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency (HAEMR) in 2026. He is concurrently pursuing an MPH at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. His area of focus is on  strengthening emergency health systems and building emergency care capacity in conflict-affected settings, with a particular focus on health system recovery in sub-Saharan Africa. His current research is on emergency care capacity at Ayder Comprehensive Specialized Hospital in the Tigray region of Ethiopia, and the impact of war on disease burden and outcomes.
