Leah Waid was a research intern with the Program on Gender, Rights, and Resilience (GR2). She worked with Dr. Jocelyn Kelly on a variety of projects related to forced displacement, gender based violence, and human trafficking.
In 2022, Leah graduated from Harvard College with a degree in History with a secondary in Russia, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia. She is interested in human trafficking, international law, and migration studies, particularly in the post-Soviet space. Prior to HHI, Leah studied at Smolny College in St. Petersburg, Russia and worked as an intern for the McCain Institute's Program on Combatting Human Trafficking. She is also currently working as a Legal Assistant to the Alameda County District Attorney's Office Human Exploitation and Trafficking (HEAT) Team.
