Martina Jaramillo
Martina Jaramillo is a rising sophomore at Harvard University studying Economics and Government. Born in Italy and half Ecuadorian, she later lived in Switzerland for a while and mostly grew up in Miami. Her academic interests center on climate governance, sustainable food systems, and economic development. She conducts research at MIT and Harvard Kennedy School on climate adaptation, including early-warning frameworks for drought risk in West Africa, and on how governance and power-sharing structures affect food security and agricultural resilience. At Harvard, she works with the Harvard Public Opinion Project, is involved with Harvard Undergraduate Consulting on Business and the Environment, and is active in Model United Nations, recently serving as a committee director at an international conference in Australia! Outside academics, she enjoys cafés, bookstores, photography, spending time outdoors, and discovering the best dessert spots in every new city she visits!
