Michael de St. Aubin, MDes
Michael is a Research Specialist for the Infectious Diseases and Epidemics Program at the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative. In this role he provides support through developing and maintaining data collection and management systems, managing and training project field staff, developing interactive and visually engaging data surveillance dashboards, assisting with preliminary data analyses, contributing to academic literature, and leading all general project design needs.
Michael's background is in architecture and design, where he worked professionally on numerous healthcare and education related projects in resource-limited countries. His experience in West Africa during the Ebola outbreak response in 2015 led him to pursue a design research degree and shift careers to the humanitarian field with a focus in epidemiology. Michael graduated from the Harvard Graduate School of Design in 2018 with a Master in Design Studies degree with a concentration in Risk & Resilience and has worked in various roles at HHI since then.
