Harvard Chan Humanitarian and Development Student Association (HHDSA)

HHDSA is a student group at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health (HSPH). HHDSA aims to create an inclusive space for students to discuss their interests and experiences in humanitarianism, as well as to catalyze discussion around development as an extension to emergency humanitarian responses to build resilience and sustainability. There is no time requirement to be a part of HHDSA - students are welcome to join for events as their schedule allows.

Examples of events and panels HHDSA organized for members last year include:

  • Discussion of the Beirut blast disaster response with local response leaders
  • Analysis of the Afghanistan crisis with the former minister of health
  • International and domestic career panels with HSPH alumni
  • Discussion of the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine with experts
  • Session on the use of drones for medical logistics in humanitarian and development settings
  • Networking events for students
